A Song That Writes Itself
Combs revealed that he wrote this captivating song while in Montana, alongside Dan and Reid Isbell, as well as his guitar tech, Jamie Davis. Interestingly, Jamie and Dan used to be in a band together, so their musical chemistry was already established. According to Combs, “The Kind of Love We Make” flowed effortlessly during the songwriting process.
The inspiration for this song came from the fact that Dan, Reid, and Luke are all expecting children within a month of each other. Perhaps this shared journey of impending fatherhood influenced the soulful melody that resonates throughout the track.
The Album You’ve Been Waiting For
“The Kind of Love We Make” serves as a magnificent lead-in to Combs’ highly anticipated album, Growin’ Up, set to be released on Friday, June 24. Combs is no stranger to success, with an outstanding record of thirteen consecutive No. 1 single releases on country radio. He is a celebrated member of the Grand Ole Opry, as well as a six-time CMA, three-time ACM, and three-time Billboard Music Award winner.
