Mercedes-Benz Partners with Amazon Prime Video and Merkley + Partners to Showcase Strong Individuals
Mercedes-Benz has joined forces with Amazon Prime Video and the highly anticipated film “Cinderella” to launch a new campaign that celebrates powerful women and promotes female empowerment. This collaborative initiative aims to inspire, connect, and encourage individuals by highlighting the importance of community and creating support systems. The campaign includes a television commercial, exclusive online content, and a livestream event that showcase the incredible cast and crew involved.
A Musically Driven Take on the Traditional Story
Premiering on September 3rd on Amazon Prime Video, “Cinderella” offers a bold and musically driven twist on the classic story. The film’s lead actors, Camila Cabello and Billy Porter, who plays the Fabulous Godmother or ‘Fab G,’ have joined the Mercedes-Benz family as brand ambassadors. Cabello’s character is an ambitious young woman with dreams that surpass societal expectations. With the help of Fab G, she defies odds and makes her dreams come true.

Breaking Barriers and Reimagining Roles
Inspired by “Cinderella,” Mercedes-Benz collaborated with its agency, Merkley + Partners, director Rachel McDonald of Biscuit Filmworks, and a primarily female cast and crew to create a new television commercial. The commercial aims to encourage women to redefine the roles society has assigned them. Placing innovation at the forefront, Mercedes-Benz showcases the incredible talent behind “Cinderella” who are breaking the mold and making a lasting impact. The commercial features Cabello, “Cinderella” director and writer Kay Cannon, and producer Shannon McIntosh. It also showcases the iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Class known for its exceptional performance and iconic design. The commercial will be digitally released on August 2nd and will air on network and cable channels starting August 23rd. It celebrates the collaboration of strong and inspirational women who are shattering the glass ceiling.
Camilla, who plays Cinderella in the film, expresses her excitement, “Playing Cinderella, a character that I have loved since I was young, is a dream come true. I’m honored to reimagine this character in a relevant way and work with Mercedes-Benz to encourage females to dream big. A Fashion Show Like No Other
As part of the collaboration, Mercedes-Benz will host the “Dressed for a Dream” livestream fashion show on Saturday, August 28th. The show will feature inspiring individuals from diverse backgrounds who have overcome challenges and achieved success. These “Everyday Ella’s” will model looks from the highly anticipated “Cinderella” film. Hosted by Billy Porter and actress Jamie Chung, the fashion show promises to inspire and uplift. Additionally, a special behind-the-scenes content piece titled “Inside Ella’s Closet” will provide a closer look at the film’s costumes and feature Ellen Mirojnick, the film’s costume designer and Mercedes-Benz brand ambassador.
Redefining Individuality and Inspiring Aspiring Girl Bosses
Billy Porter, who portrays the Fabulous Godmother in “Cinderella,” is excited about the opportunity to redefine the world’s perception of Cinderella. He shares, “I want to change the world and encourage people to believe that they can be whoever and whatever they want to be, as long as they stay true to themselves. I’m excited to work with Mercedes-Benz on this campaign where the message of individuality is at the forefront as we empower aspiring girl bosses everywhere to embark on their own journey to the top.”
Billy collaborated with Mercedes-Benz to design a custom orange and gold glitter “chariot” inspired by his stylish character. This modern-day “chariot,” a Mercedes-Maybach S560, features first-of-its-kind technology, massage chairs, and a sparkling customized wrap that perfectly embodies Fab G’s vibrant personality. The unveiling of this magical chariot will take place on August 2nd and will showcase Porter’s grand and glorious style in this modern fairytale.
