Experience the Benefits of Laser Hair Removal
Tired of the hassles of shaving and waxing? Dreaming of having silky smooth, stubble-free legs with virtually no effort? Consider our laser hair removal treatment, available at our Woodland Hills office in Los Angeles. It’s a safe and convenient method of permanent hair removal that only requires three to six treatments to achieve results. Suitable for a wide range of patients, laser hair removal will free you from the burden of constant hair removal.
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
The laser selectively targets the pigment inside the hair follicle, disabling a large number of hair follicles with each pulse.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Typically, three to six treatments are necessary, with intervals of 6 to 8 weeks between each session. You’ll start seeing new hair growth, indicating the need for the next treatment.
Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?
The answer is both yes and no. Hairs are disabled during treatment and put into a long “sleep.” Some of these “sleeping” follicles are permanently dead, and hairs will never regrow from them. With each treatment, additional hair follicles are killed until, in most cases, all hair is permanently absent.
What Happens After the Treatment?
After laser hair removal, some patients may experience slight pinkness for 1-2 days, while others, particularly fair-skinned individuals, may have no visible pinkness at all. Hair starts to fall out between 5-14 days after the treatment and may continue to do so for several weeks. You can use gentle rubbing, scrubbing, or plucking (after 5 days) to speed up the hair removal process, although it’s not necessary. Keep in mind that only hairs in the growth phase will fall out, and it’s impossible to tell by looking which hairs are in this phase.
Is Laser Hair Removal Painful?
Minimal discomfort is felt during the procedure. We apply a topical anesthetic beforehand, and our patented Cryogen cooling spray provides additional anesthesia each time the laser is discharged.
How Does Laser Hair Removal Compare to Electrolysis?
Unlike electrolysis, laser hair removal delays hair regrowth while also removing existing hair. Additionally, laser hair removal allows us to treat large areas of the body with total comfort.
What Is the Cost of Laser Hair Removal?
The cost of laser hair removal varies depending on the area being treated. In many cases, treatment for a specific area can cost under $100 per session.
How Do I Prepare for Laser Hair Removal?
Avoid tanning for about 10 days before laser hair removal treatment. Under certain circumstances, we may suggest applying a gel to the treatment areas a week before the session. Refrain from bleaching, plucking, or waxing hair for at least 2 weeks before treatment, but shaving is allowed.
What Follow-Up Care Is Needed?
Aftercare for laser hair removal is minimal. Avoid sun exposure for a few days after treatment and avoid using harsh soaps or lotions on treated areas for 3-4 days. You can use a loofah to help remove treated hairs faster. If desired, plucking or waxing can be done after one week to speed up the hair removal process.

Los Angeles PhotofacialSM Skin Rejuvenation
Skin rejuvenation using photorejuvenation is a highly sought-after treatment in Los Angeles. This breakthrough procedure uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL™) technology to address various skin conditions, such as color irregularities, poor texture, small veins, and signs of aging caused by sun damage. With superior cosmetic results and high satisfaction, IPL™ offers a safe and non-invasive solution that can be customized to your specific needs. If you have questions about skin rejuvenation, read on for answers to our frequently asked questions or contact Dr. Hamilton’s office in Los Angeles.
How Is the Skin Rejuvenation Procedure Performed?
During the skin rejuvenation procedure, a cold gel is applied to the treatment area, and you may be given dark glasses to protect your eyes from the light. The IPL™ handpiece is gently pressed against your skin, delivering pulses of light. You may feel a slight sting, similar to the snapping of a small rubber band. An anesthetic cream may be used if necessary, but it’s usually not required. Treatment consists of a series of procedures that provide excellent long-term results with minimal adverse effects and no downtime. Each session lasts approximately twenty minutes.
Why Are Multiple Treatments Necessary?
For optimal results, a series of five or six treatment sessions may be recommended. This approach allows for gradual improvement without any interruption to your daily activities. You can return to work on the same day as the treatment.
How Does Skin Rejuvenation Compare to Other Treatments?
IPL™ skin rejuvenation stands out as the most effective treatment for complexion and texture improvement. Unlike other technologies, it doesn’t require any downtime, allowing you to maintain your busy lifestyle.
What Conditions Can Skin Rejuvenation Treat?
IPL™ can effectively address various skin imperfections caused by sun damage and photo-aging, such as color irregularities (red and brown spots), enlarged pores, dull complexions, and facial abnormalities. It can also eliminate broken veins, capillaries, and reduce the symptoms of rosacea. The treatment can be applied to the face, neck, chest, and hands for comprehensive rejuvenation.

Laser Resurfacing – The Answer to Skin Imperfections
Cosmetic skin resurfacing can improve the appearance of wrinkled, blemished, or sun-damaged skin. It’s also effective in treating acne scars, lines, folds, and wrinkles. Our laser resurfacing procedure uses a powerful, focused light to remove the top layer of skin at the right depth, smoothing out the surface and addressing true wrinkles. Facelifts and fillers don’t provide the same results for surface changes. Dr. Hamilton has extensive experience in laser resurfacing, and we offer both CO2 and erbium lasers to suit different needs.
